Effectiveness of manual therapies: the UK evidence report
Conclusions: Spinal manipulation/mobilization is effective in adults for: acute, subacute, and chronic low back pain; migraine and cervicogenic headache; cervicogenic dizziness; manipulation/mobilization is effective for several extremity joint conditions; and thoracic manipulation/mobilization is effective for acute/subacute neck pain. The evidence is inconclusive for cervical manipulation/mobilization alone for neck pain of any duration, and for manipulation/mobilization for mid back pain, sciatica, tension-type headache, coccydynia, temporomandibular joint disorders, fibromyalgia, premenstrual syndrome, and pneumonia in older adults. Spinal manipulation is not effective for asthma and dysmenorrhea when compared to sham manipulation, or for Stage 1 hypertension when added to an antihyper…

Lumbar Herniated Disc - What You Can Do to Fix Your Herniated Disc and Remove the Lumbar Pain
Fixing a lumbar herniated disc does not always mean precisely the same to everyone. Generally it either would mean either help me get rid of the back pain, or help me treat the herniated disc. Often the result at first may be the very same but the outlook is without a doubt critical.

Therapeutic endoscopic division of epidural adhesions
Aims: Endoscopic epidural procedures are used to treat lower back pain, particularly when radiculopathy is present. The epidural space is examined with an endoscope and further interventions may then be performed, such as mobilising spinal adhesions or administering drugs to inflamed tissue. The rarity of the syndrome has prevented the establishment of specific guidelines for management; therefore, we will discuss this case in the context of similar previously reported cases, contrasting the various treatment approaches and outcomes described in previous reports. This discussion outlines a syndrome not commonly considered in the differential diagnosis of back pain. Chronic axial compression of the mouse tail segment induces MRI bone marrow edema changes that correlate with increased marrow vasculature and cellularity

We assessed effects of compressive forces to mouse tail segments of WT and TNF-Tg mice with SA, via contrast enhanced-MRI and histology. Normalized marrow contrast enhancement (NMCE) of uninstrumented WT vertebrae significantly decrease, threefold (p 0.01) from 8 to 12 weeks of age, while the NMCE of TNF-Tg vertebrae remained elevated. Compressive loading (6× body weight) increased NMCE twofold (p 0.02) within 2 weeks in WT tails, which was equal to 6× loaded TNF-Tg tails within 4 weeks. Histology conf… br

Despite the growing clinical importance of interspinous ligament degeneration in low back pain patients, formal reliability studies for the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) evaluation of interspinous ligaments have not been performed. We proposed an MRI classification system for interspinous ligament degeneration and conducted a comprehensive reliability and reproducibility assessment. Fifty patients who had low back pain with or without leg discomfort (26 males and 24 females) with a mean age of 48.8nbsp;years (range 23–85nbsp;years) were studied. The classification for lumbar interspinous ligament degeneration was developed on the basis of the lit… br
