Curing Back Pain With Asanas
Back pain is one of the most frequent health problems in adults. About 8 out of 10 adults suffer from this problem one time or the other in their life. This may be due to muscle strain or spasm, sprains of ligaments (which attach bone to bone), joint problems or a “slipped disk.” The most common cause is lackluster lifestyle or using your back muscles in activities to which you are not used to. You get relief in back pain by doing following asanas if the pain is not due to any injury or other medical reasons.

Muscle functional magnetic resonance imaging and acute low back pain: a pilot study to characterize lumbar muscle activity asymmetries and examine the effects of osteopathic manipulative treatment
Conclusion: Collectively, this pilot work demonstrates the feasibility of mfMRI for quantification and localization of muscle abnormalities in patients with acute low back pain. Additionally, this pilot work provides insight into the mechanistic actions of OMT during acute LBP, as it suggests that it may attenuate muscle activity asymmetries of some of the intrinsic low back muscles. Chronic Pain in Your Lower Back - Core Causes and Alternative Health Treatment Benefits
A sore lower back (lumbago) might be expected if you strained your muscles, strained a ligament, or slipped a disc. Those causes of low back pain can occur when you use your back muscles in unfamiliar activities, like lifting or doing yard work. Underlying chronic back pain is a more complicated issue. Medical doctors sometimes recommend surgery, but sadly it works in only a small percentage of the patients. All chemical painkillers and drugs will bring short term relief but also poison your body with toxic materials. People who resort to a chiropractor, naturopath, homeopath, or massage therapist who go beyond the physical expression of pain will have the best results.

Measurement of voluntary activation of the back muscles using transcranial magnetic stimulation.
CONCLUSIONS: Twitch interpolation using TMS can be used to quantify voluntary activation in back extensors. The results of this study reveal that neural drive to the back extensors during strong contractions is submaximal. SIGNIFICANCE: The assessment of voluntary activation of the back muscles may aid our understanding of the mechanisms of alteration in control of these muscles implicated in chronic low back pain.
